The story behind the TWC Foundation: Making a difference through Community Transport
When I started TWC Together We Can and TWC Foundation , my mission was simple: to change lives by connecting people to the care and support they need. Little did I know that this journey would lead me to start the TWC Foundation —a foundation built on the belief that everyone deserves access to the support they need to live fulfilling, connected lives. One of the most powerful tools we’ve used to achieve this has been our Community Transport, which has had a profound impact on the lives of seniors and people with disabilities in Greater Sydney, the Blue Mountains, and Wollongong.
You might wonder, why start the TWC Foundation? The answer is simple: because I have seen first hand how much of a difference it makes when we go the extra mile for our clients. I do this because I change lives every day. I’ll never forget when one of our participants told me, “You saved my life.” It was in that moment I knew this work was more than just a job—it was my calling.
At the heart of the TWC Foundation’s work is our Community Transport, designed to tackle one of the biggest challenges faced by seniors and people with disabilities: social isolation. Many of these individuals are unable to drive or don’t have access to reliable transport, leaving them disconnected from their communities. This is where we step in.
How Our Community Transport Service is Changing Lives
Our Community Transport Service is more than just a ride from A to B—it’s a lifeline. It provides stress-free, accessible transportation for seniors and people with disabilities, allowing them to attend medical appointments, social events, and community activities. But it’s not just about the destination. The true magic happens along the way, as our participants bond with one another, share experiences, and build lasting friendships.
TWC Foundation has organised regular social outings to beautiful locations such as the Blue Mountains, local beaches, and community spaces. These trips have helped participants discover new places, build social connections, and experience a sense of adventure that they often miss out on due to mobility or transport barriers. Feedback from our participants has been overwhelmingly positive, with many saying that these outings have enriched their lives and helped them forge meaningful connections. By offering this inclusive service, we’ve been able to overcome language barriers and ensure that seniors from diverse backgrounds feel comfortable and supported.

Reducing Isolation and Building Community through Community Transport
The impact of our community transport service goes far beyond providing access to essential services. It has become a vehicle for reducing isolation and promoting social inclusion. Participants have shared how much joy they feel discovering new places with others, how their social bonds have strengthened, and how much they look forward to each outing. These experiences continue to have a positive impact long after the trip is over, as friendships and connections made on the road continue to grow.
We’ve seen the direct benefits of these outings on the well-being of our participants. Seniors who once felt isolated and disconnected now have something to look forward to. The relationships built on these journeys have been life-changing for many, reinforcing the power of human connection and community.
Looking Ahead with TWC Foundation
The TWC Foundation’s Community Transport is just the beginning. We’re committed to expanding our services and continuing to innovate in ways that support those who need it most. Whether it’s through additional social outings, expanding our transport fleet, or offering new community programs, our mission remains clear: to change lives.
“I do this because I change lives every day.”
